Waterco was established in 1990 and became a limited company in 1998, the business has 16 employees that provide services to the water industry in the UK. The underwater survey side of the company was set up in January 2004. The technical director has spent 9 years offshore in the ROV industry, and continues with a 28/28 rotation.
In the current climate of demand being greater than available resources, we believe there is room for a different approach to the supply of ROV personnel to the operating companies. We further believe that with our approach we can become the premier providers of ROV personnel.
The vision is in two main parts, firstly to only take on quality personnel, to achieve this we will only take personnel onto our books who come recommended through our network of contacts. Secondly our intention is to supply teams/shifts rather than individuals.
The rationale of supplying a team is that this eliminates the risk of personality clashes which can sometimes occur when sending out individuals
The intention is to have an agency run by ROV people for ROV people. We have people ready to come 'onboard' should the venture take off the way we envisage.
Initially we are aiming for a commission rate of between 5 and 7.5%, therefore day rates will be slightly higher.
Finally we believe that as we become established the operators will be prepared to pay higher rates for our services thus pushing up day rates further.
We already have a nucleus of people interested in our concept, we are now looking for more interested parties in order to start building teams.
