BREEAM Pol 5 and Pol 6

The BREEAM Buildings Assessments cover: Communities, Courts, Education, Healthcare, Industrial, Multi-residential, Offices, Prisons and Retail developments. These contain Issue ID's Pol5: Flood Risk and Pol6: Minimising Watercourse Pollution.

Pol5: Flood Risk Assessment
Aim:
To encourage development in low flood risk areas or to take measurers to reduce the impact of flooding on buildings in areas with a medium or high risk of flooding.  

Credits: 3 available credits (Max 2 for flood risk + 1 additional credit for attenuation measures)

Flood Risk Assessment Screening Study:
Waterco can produce a site specific Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) which can achieve up to 2 Pol5 credits. We can also provide Surface Water Run-off Calculations to achieve the additional Pol5 credit.
 

Pol6: Minimising Watercourse Pollution
Aim:
To reduce the potential for silt, heavy metals, chemicals or oil pollution to natural watercourses from surface water run-off from buildings and hard surfaces.  

Credits: 1 credit available

Waterco can provide advice on the most appropriate Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and pollution prevention measures for you site and provide you with a suitable detailed drainage design to achieve the Pol6 credit. See also the Sustainable Drainage Systems page.
