The consideration of flood risk is a key component of the planning process in the UK. In England under PPS25, developers are required to undertake a Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) for proposed schemes located in identified flood risk areas or developments over one hectare in size.  Similarly, in Wales a Flood Consequences Assessment (FCA) compliant with TAN15, may be required by the planning authority.
