Flood Risk Guidance

Waterco provide professional guidance throughout the assessment process. This section is aimed at providing a number of resources to inform on flood risk legislation and advice on what you can do to speed up the process.

Planning Documents - PPS25, TAN15, SPP7

Every FRA or FCA we produce meets the requirements set out in the relevant flood risk planning statements.

In England the planning document is PPS25 (Planning Policy Statement 25 – Development and Flood Risk), whereas in Wales, it's the Welsh Assembly Governments TAN15 (Technical Advice Note 15 – Development and Flood Risk). In Scotland the Scottish Executive Development Department have produced SPP7 (Scottish Planning Policy 7 - Planning & Flooding).

Environment Agency (EA) Flood Maps

The Environment Agency website has a very helpful flood zone finder (EA Flood Map) in which you just need to enter the postcode of the development site to find out in which Flood Zone it is located.  We have included a quick link to it below.
 

Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) Flood Maps

The SEPA website also has helpful indicative river and coastal flood zone finder. Simply click on the link below and enter the location or postcode of the site to access the map.
