Waterco Consultants were this year’s highest climber at the New Civil Engineer (NCE) awards dinner. Rising 33 places to number 27 in the NCE100 Club rankings, Waterco have been recognised as a leading consultancy in the UK and were shortlisted for ‘SME of the Year’.

Presented at London’s prestigious Hilton Grosvenor House Hotel in London on the 22nd June [picture below], an already fantastic achievement was made even more special by winning the ‘Company to Watch’ – Editor’s Choice Award, celebrating their contribution to inspiring excellence within the construction industry.

New Civil Engineer editor, Mark Hansford said; “The NCE100 Awards are one of the toughest-judged awards in the industry. To even enter, firms must make the grade as an NCE100 Company of the Year – our totally independent, authoritative assessment of what it means to be an excellent civil engineering practice”.

Employing 50 staff the company operates from offices in Ruthin, Chester and Manchester, Waterco’s Commercial Director, Pedr Jones said that “receiving the award within the ‘Overarching Corporate Excellence’ category is a great reflection of everybody in the teams’ continued hard work and the ongoing support from all of our clients and partners. To be recognised by our peers as the ‘Company to Watch’ is fantastic”.

Managing Director, Peter Jones added that; “As an ambitious SME our award proves that we share the same philosophy as all of the firms in the NCE100. Committed to excellence, creating (and maintaining) a great place to work and driving the industry forward. Despite an uncertain economic and political landscape, the UK’s Civil Engineering profession continues to achieve incredible things. As a business we are optimistic for the future, investing in our people and always looking for new talent and enthusiasm to join the team. We will continue to work hard to maintain our high standards.
